History of Bingo
Bingo is considered as one of the most popular forms of gambling played today. It is estimated to be around 490 years old and it actually started as “beano.” The origins of bingo can be found in the mid-1500s, in Italy, when bingo was called ‘Il Gioco del Lotto d’Italia’. The game consisted of cards with numbered squares on them and the winning numbers were drawn out of a sack. In the late 1770s, bingo made its way to France. In this period, a young Frenchman developed an alternate version of the game. There were printed numbers on cards, nine vertical columns and three horizontal rows, with the numbers 1 through 90 in random arrangements. The numbers were drawn from a sack. The winner was the first person who covered a horizontal row. By the 18th century, bingo was widely played across industrial towns and cities in the United Kingdom. Also, the game found a market in other nations, including the United States.
How Does Bingo Work?
To play bingo, you have to cross off the numbers you have on your tickets when they are called out. If you cross off all your numbers before anyone else, you are the winner. The numbers on the ticket depend on the type of the bingo game you play. Once the bingo caller starts reading out numbers from the bingo balls, you need to see if those numbers match with the numbers on your cards. If there is a match, this number must be crossed off. You have to repeat this until someone wins. Usually, there are three winners - FH (full house), 2L (two lines) and 1L (one line). Also, you could win money if the game has a special prize for scratching out the numbers in a particular pattern. Keep in mind that if your numbers are called and you get to mark this particular pattern out, you may not win the game but you could win extra money. Last, but not, least, there are even mini-games with cash prizes up for grabs that happen during the breaks in bingo.
How To Play Bingo
The rules of bingo are fairly simple. First of all, you have to purchase your bingo tickets. They are available before the start of the game in the bingo lobby and cost from as little as 1p. The game starts when the first number is announced. If you have the announced number on your ticket, you have to cross it off. The numbers will continue to be called until someone has crossed off all the numbers. To get the first prize, you need to complete one line. There might be further prizes to be won, but this information will be announced. Then, the numbers will continue to be called until all the numbers on your ticket have been crossed off. Also, not all bingo tickets can be used in every bingo room. The rooms in which they will be available to use will be specified. Lastly, the players don’t have to purchase bingo tickets for every single room, because there are some rooms where you can enjoy playing for free!
